About Amanda
I have 8 years of teaching experience and hold a Master of Science in Mathematics Education. Throughout my teaching career, I have worked with learners of different academic backgrounds, helping them strengthen algebraic reasoning through supportive mentorship, structured lessons, and personalized guidance. I enjoy helping students transform uncertainty into confidence through consistent encouragement and practical learning experiences.
One learner struggled with solving algebraic equations involving consecutive odd and even numbers because translating word problems into mathematical expressions often seemed difficult. Through guided examples, structured worksheets, and practical reasoning exercises, the student gradually improved analytical skills and achieved excellent examination results.

My teaching philosophy emphasizes helping students understand algebra through logical reasoning, curiosity, and meaningful practice rather than memorizing procedures. Before beginning instruction, I assess each learner's mathematical background, confidence level, learning preferences, study habits, and academic objectives. Using this information, I develop customized lesson plans that strengthen essential algebraic foundations before gradually introducing more advanced concepts through carefully organized instruction.
Students receive comprehensive instruction in algebraic expressions, equations, inequalities, graphing, linear and quadratic functions, polynomial operations, rational expressions, radicals, exponent rules, logarithmic relationships, systems of equations, sequences, algebraic identities, coordinate methods, and mathematical modeling. Lessons combine conceptual explanations, guided demonstrations, visual learning activities, collaborative discussions, structured exercises, independent practice, and reflective problem-solving. Students regularly explain their reasoning, evaluate multiple solving strategies, and identify mathematical relationships that improve conceptual understanding and long-term retention.
Lessons incorporate practical examples from software engineering, civil engineering, business analytics, renewable energy systems, healthcare technology, robotics, and supply chain management to demonstrate the importance of algebra across modern industries. Continuous assessments, cumulative review sessions, personalized assignments, and detailed feedback reinforce understanding while helping students steadily improve confidence and examination performance.
