About Phil
I am a professional trumpet player performing in 7 large production bands. I've been teaching trumpet since 1983 and playing since 1968. Hundreds of students taught since then, one of which went on to Berkeley School of Music in Boston and ended up on the road with "Sir Spamalot" musical.

For most students looking to build their embouchure strength I teach concepts from Claude Gordon, Louis Maggio and Harold "Pappy" Mitchell. Trumpet requires a "physical approach" in that it involves facial muscle strength to be able to handle the riggors of modern music.

- 30mins
Details
My rates are usually based upon 30 minute lessons rather than hourly. 30 minute lessons are $35 whereas one hour lessons for more advanced students are $50. I teach all ages and levels. Monthly payment is usually in advance on the first lesson of the month.
