About Isabel
My name is Isabel and I have a keen interest in teaching science. I have a PhD in nano-optics, as well as a first class honors BSc in Applied Physics, both from the University of Limerick. Further to this; I have also completed two postdoctoral research projects which combined elements of physics and chemistry. To further develop my teaching skills I have also completed a Certificate in Teaching and Learning from University College Cork.

I have spent the last four years working as an online private tutor: primarily in the areas of physics, chemistry, and maths. My sessions cover from junior cert to Undergraduate level.
Aside from that, I have a year's lecturing experience from the University of Limerick where I taught both introductory and advanced level physics. Prior to that I worked as a teaching assistant in the Department of Physics at the University of Limerick, and spent my time as a postgraduate student tutoring students in physics as a member of the University's Science Learning Centre.
My sessions are carried out via Microsoft Teams. I tailor my grinds to my student's individual needs in order to set a pace that suits them best. Generally, I begin with the basic theory and questions before moving onto more complex problems. Though I am also happy to begin with more advanced topics or exam style questions. I also set problems in order to monitor student progress and take feedback to set the ideal pace. All material is prepared before the session according to the student's needs.
