About Zara

I’m a second-year Law student at the University of Glasgow and I really enjoy helping others with their studies. I’m friendly, patient and easy to talk to, and I like making difficult topics simpler and easier to understand. I remember how overwhelming sitting my SQA exams were and how much I struggled with Maths, Biology and Chemistry- especially since you only get one shot of sitting your SQA exams and they are fundamental into getting into the University/College and course of your choice.

I am currently a second year Law student attending the University of Glasgow. I take a friendly and simple approach to teaching, mainly focusing on breaking down difficult concepts and explaining them in a way that is easy for students to understand. Having sat my SQA exams only a couple of years ago, I am familiar with the course curriculums and understand what is expected in exams and what markers are looking for. I can help students with understanding course content, essay structure, revision techniques and how to easily approach past paper questions.

A typical lesson length will look around 1-2 hours

I have previous tutoring experience through VTO (Volunteer Tutors Organisation), where I volunteered to support children who were struggling with school and needed extra academic support. I also have experience with Kumon, a Maths and English tutoring centre, where I developed my ability to explain concepts clearly and support students with their learning.

My SQA qualifications:

(A* refers to an A band 1)

National 5 Maths: A*
National 5 English: A
National 5 History: A*
National 5 Modern Studies: A*
National 5 French: A
National 5 Latin: A*

National 5 Biology: A

Higher Maths: A
Higher English: A
Higher History: A*
Higher Biology: A

I am able to tutor in any of the above mentioned subjects and grade levels
