About Camelia
I have taught chess in various circles, and with two different projects I held courses to a class at a High School in Olbia and to the alumni of Tempio's Community Center. By working with the children in a school in Romania I decided to create a funny tool that promotes the idea of combining a purely intellectual sport with physical sports based on the philosophical concept of "mens sana in corpore sano". This project got materialized in the creation of a magazine destined to children aged 5 to 7 on average and consequently I translated it into Italian.

In my chess career I had the pleasure to teach chess in schools and chess clubs as well as privately, having students starting from the age of three and up to late adulthood. Now at a large scale the merits of chess are being recognized, such as training the mind, providing help in the learning processes and the education of the personal character; it helps increase the concentration and patience and to think logically and creatively. It's not a myth that children who play chess have good results at school. Quoting Dr. Luis Alberto Machado, "you don't need to be intelligent in order to play chess, but chess develops the intelligence." That I can confirm from experience. Personally I started playing chess in tournaments since the age of 8 and up to 20 years old I have witnessed a continuous rise, winning the national titles u10, u16 and u20, winning gold, silver and bronze medals through the years as well as gaining many other prizes both nationally and internationally, culminating with the gold medal at the European Championship u18 for teams. In Italy I played for the chess clubs in Tempio, Olbia, Porto Torres and Arzachena. For me, chess is a passion and I love to teach it enormously, comparing the situations of a game with various aspects in the everyday life. As a methodology the lessons I hold focus towards learning various principles of strategy and tactics from famous games.
