I am a dedicated and passionate primary school teacher with years of experience teaching in the UK education system. I currently teach a wonderful Year 2 class, teaching all subjects across the curriculum. My teaching experience includes planning engaging lessons, supporting children of varying abilities and preparing students for key assessments (SATs, PUMA, NFER, 11+). I am particularly experienced teaching Phonics, early reading, grammar, maths, including reasoning & problem solving and comprehension strategies, which are essential for building confident young learners. I am currently offering online tuition for primary-aged children in English & maths. I currently have a number of Y6 students for SATs prep, so at this point I am not taking on any more KS2 students.
My teaching style is interactive and encouraging, ensuring that students develop critical thinking skills and a love for learning. I believe in fostering independence by guiding students to find solutions rather than simply providing answers. It is incredibly rewarding to see their confidence grow as they achieve success in their learning. I hold a 1st class honours degree and have extensive experience in both classroom teaching, group intervention and one-to-one support. I have worked with children from diverse backgrounds, including those with English as an Additional Language (EAL) and Special Educational Needs (SEN). My approach is patient, structured, and tailored to each child’s needs, ensuring they reach their full potential, while building confidence and enjoying their learning.
