About Ione
I am a primary school teacher currently teaching at a school in West London where I have been teaching for the last two years since completing my PGCE. I have 30 children in my class all of whom have ranged in ability and aptitude. It is my job to bring learning alive and help them all make progress over the year. I use all sorts of strategies to help children stay focussed and on task. Most importantly making learning fun and accessible.

I am a fun and positive teacher who feels very strongly that children can learn anything given the right tools. I currently teach Year 4 at a State primary school in Ealing. I use the the thumbs up, thumbs down, wiggle wiggle method to check children's understanding of the lesson's content. I like to use a starter to get the creative juices flowing which might be an anagram or spelling game to start the lesson and then I like to ask children if they know anything about the topic before we start. Children who find learning difficult might be more inclined at this point to share knowledge without the pressure of having to provide a written answer. Throughout the lesson I check to see if the class are following and I often split the class into segments helping a smaller group and moving on to extend ones who are doing the written task.
I have a wealth of experience in teaching from reception upwards and I think keeping children motivated with varied lively approaches is the best way to engage them. Particularly, if they find classroom learning a challenge.
