About Nicola
Hello! My name is Nicola, and I am a dedicated and enthusiastic primary supply teacher with over 4 years of experience working across various age groups, including children with Special Educational Needs (SEN). My passion for teaching and my commitment to creating an inclusive, supportive learning environment have been the cornerstones of my career.
Throughout my teaching journey, I have had the pleasure of working in diverse classroom settings, adapting my teaching strategies to meet the unique needs of each student. My experience ranges from early years to upper primary, allowing me to develop a broad understanding of the primary curriculum and the specific developmental stages of children.
One of my key strengths is my ability to tailor my teaching methods to support students with SEN. I believe in fostering a positive, patient, and encouraging atmosphere where all students feel valued and capable of achieving their full potential. By using a variety of interactive and engaging techniques, I aim to make learning enjoyable and accessible for everyone.

- I tailor my lessons to the individual needs of each student. This includes assessing their current knowledge, learning style, and goals.
- I break down complex topics into manageable steps to ensure students fully understand each part before moving on. This scaffolding approach helps build a strong foundation.
- I provide continuous feedback and conduct regular assessments to monitor progress. This helps in identifying areas that need more attention and adjusting the teaching plan accordingly.
- A typical lesson lasts between 60 to 90 minutes. This duration is optimal as it allows enough time to cover new material, review previous lessons, and practice problem-solving without overwhelming the student. However, the length can be adjusted based on the student's age, concentration span, and specific needs.
- I have 4 years experience working as a primary school teacher, mainly in KS2. As well as experience in KS1 and SEN settings. This includes whole class teaching, small group work and working one-to-one.
