About Ellie
I am currently a 2nd year student studying Primary Education BAQTS at University of Chester. I have 18 months experience as a one-to-one teaching assistant and I tutored a child in maths at their home for around 6 months. My time as a TA was in mixed Year 3/4 classroom. On my university placements so far I have worked in a Year 6 classroom and a mixed Year 1/2 classroom. Therefore, my experience is broad and I am comfortable working with children at a variety of ages and abilities.

My teaching method is based around the theory of constructivism. I believe that children learn best when they build knowledge onto what they already know from their experiences. I try to relate new learning to real life contexts to give the learning meaning and motivate the children to see what the purpose of their learning is.
