About Jess
I am a fun, friendly and patient young tutor who's aim is to help boost confidence so my students can find maths fulfilling and straight forwards rather than a stressful experience. I genuinely care that all my students understand and enjoy their sessions. My wish is that they will realise that they are capable to do the things that before hand may have seemed confusing, and even to go above and beyond that.

With younger students I tend to assess their basic mathematical skills looking for areas where they need assistance and then go from there. I believe that if a child has a strong basic foundation then future learning will be much more fluid. For older students or those needing help with specific topics, we will base our sessions around the school curriculum to keep them up to date with their class and on track for any upcoming exams. I am also happy to work with home schooled students whom may be taking an alternative route, such as Steiner. I am a patient teacher who is not afraid to take the slower route, break things down and repeat learning in order to allow my students to understand with greater depth and walk away with genuine confidence in their abilities and skills.
Length of sessions: 1 hour.
Qualifications:
GCSEs (9 in maths, A in FSMQ)
A-Levels (A* in maths, A* in Further Maths)
Experience:
Previously a tutor at KUMON.
Worked as a private tutor for the past three years teaching online and in person.
Student age range:
I offer classes for students ages 7-16 (school years 3 to 11)
