About Kate
My name is Kate and I am a friendly and motivational teacher and tutor. With over 10 years experience in education, in management and as one of the science subject leads at an outstanding school in Southwest London, I have helped thousands of students feel successful in science. I am now a professional tutor and examiner for biology, chemistry and physics. I work with my students positively to build confidence in the subject - I have lots of experience working with students of all ages and levels and work with them on building motivation for the subject and moving them up levels/grades. I make dedicated resources to help my students feel like they are excelling, we then practice the knowledge we have learnt to new questions. I make the most out of the lessons, comfortably challenging my students so that they feel like they are making great progress!

I have extensive experience as a science teacher and subject lead at outstanding schools in London. As well as this, I am an examiner for physics, chemistry and biology GCSE and therefore understand what is expected at different levels.
I am a motivational teacher and tutor, building student confidence through cognitive science approaches to teaching. I make a tailored curriculum for my students' need and level. I break down knowledge into chunks to help understanding, I then ask my students to apply new knowledge to different questions to gain a deeper understanding so they can really excel in the subject.
I teach all sciences to year 7 - year 11 (age 10-16). My lessons are normally 1 hour with additional resources to take away for homework and/or revision.
I can do individual or group sessions online. I also conduct revision sessions during the holidays. This can include whole morning or afternoon sessions for intensive revision before GCSE exams, end of term tests or entrance exams.
