About Dylan
Teaching the trumpet gives me the opportunity to share my love for music while helping students discover their own unique musical voice. I believe that every student learns differently, and successful teaching requires patience, flexibility, and genuine encouragement. Rather than following a standard lesson plan for everyone, I customize each session according to the student's current ability, preferred learning style, and personal objectives.
Lessons begin by establishing excellent fundamentals through posture, breathing techniques, embouchure development, articulation, rhythm, tone production, scales, music reading, and finger coordination. As students become more comfortable, they develop flexibility, endurance, lip slurs, range expansion, phrasing, dynamics, ear training, sight reading, orchestral excerpts, solo repertoire, jazz improvisation, ensemble performance, and advanced musicianship.
I also focus on building performance confidence, effective practice routines, healthy playing habits, and musical interpretation so students continue progressing long after each lesson ends. My aim is to help every learner become a confident, expressive, and independent trumpet player while ensuring that every lesson is engaging, challenging, and enjoyable.

My goal is to help students become confident and expressive trumpet players through engaging lessons that combine technical excellence with artistic creativity.
Students develop a strong musical foundation through breathing exercises, embouchure training, articulation, rhythm, scales, note reading, music theory, and tone production before progressing to flexibility, endurance, phrasing, dynamics, sight reading, ear training, and expressive interpretation.
Advanced learners receive instruction in orchestral music, jazz improvisation, solo performance, ensemble techniques, advanced articulation, and audition coaching. Every lesson is adapted to the student's pace and supported by constructive feedback, effective practice strategies, and continuous encouragement.
