About Amelia
I've just finished Year 13, taking A-Levels in English Literature, Chemistry, and Biology. I'm predicted A*AB and achieved standards 7-9 in GCSEs. I am hoping to continue to University to study Chemistry post A-Level results after receiving offers from 4 Russel Group unis.
I've been tutoring in school since the beginning of Y12 and have found a passion for teaching others to help them reach their full potential.
I hope that I can act as an encouraging tutor for any student of any level, who not only helps them expand their knowledge and capability but also to support them as they get closer to their final exams.

Having had experience tutoring Y10 and Y11 students for GCSE in school as a Sixth Form mentor for two years I've developed an interactive and structured way of tutoring Chemistry- at the end of Y12 I had successfully helped a Y11 GCSE Student go from a Standard 5 to a Standard 7 in the space of 8 months, having weekly half hour sessions at lunchtimes.
I often use mind-maps that students and myself make collaboratively as a way of condensing information productively, and then use active methods of learning such as practice papers to engage what we have learnt in content sessions. I also find that with a science like Chemistry it is very beneficial to connect each topic to create a holistic view of the subject.
My lessons would typically be an hour long where I'd start with a few exam questions as a form of active recall and to monitor progress for the first 15 minutes and then focus on understanding a topics content for the rest of the session.
