About Steph
I am a 32 year old queer female artist from Bristol. I work in my studio most days of the week, working on commissions and focusing on my own practice. Currently, I'm making some big sculptures for a public space, and I'm working with geology researchers at the University of Bristol.
I have ran art clubs in primary schools, ran varied creative groups with teenagers and community grups, and I am a lecturer and tutor at Central Saint Martins.
I live on a narrowboat called Tooti, and I have a cat called Little My (I am a huge fan of Tove Yansson, creator of the Moomins and an a fantastic writer!)

I teach in a student focused way and I love to seek out exactly what makes you light up as an artist or what drives you creatively. From there we can explore through different techniques and mediums, for example clay and plaster sculpture, found materials and assemblage, collage, graphic design, drawing, printmaking and marking making, and making your own art materials such as pigments, dyes and papers.
I am offering 1 hour online sessions where we can work week to week intuitively if you just want to explore and develop your artistic skills, or we can make a planned programme if you are working towards a goal. I recommend working in blocks of 5 or 10 weeks as I find working together over a longer period beneficial to really dig into the work.
I have been a practising artist for over 10 years, graduating from Central Saint Martins. My background is in making and design, and have moved towards a contemporary art practice in recent years, so my knowledge is broad and my experience varied.
My lessons are for anyone aged 14-25, and are suitable for any skill level or experience. The sessions are tailored to you and your art.
