Languages are built on WORDS (Ref., WORDS Bee Gees). And we need the skills to put the words together in terms of their structure and grammar. Knowing practical English sentence structure and grammar is fundamental to understanding and then analytically constructing sentences. Students, once having such understanding, will be able to critically construct their own sentences and hence make no or fewer mistakes. This will lead to 'mastering'. With practice, the ability to write will improve and neuron connections or synapses in the brain will develop. Reaching such a state, the verbal ability subsequently may be developed through guided or monitored practical communication - written or verbal.
