Deepali Maam has been my online music teacher for the last 1½ years. Under her, I have learnt the Subject of Indian Classical Vocals. Well, my experience has been absolutely phenomenal with her. Having been a Grade 10 Student simultaneously can be challenging sometimes, and this is when her additional help comes to the rescue - be it handwritten notes, self recorded voice notes as well as the detailed classwork posted on the group. Times when the class might not be as interesting, one can easily get engrossed and absorbed simply listening to her sing. An essential facet of her teaching is how she not only teaches the tune of a particular Bandish belonging to a given Raag, but makes sure to explain the lyrics with its tone & mood. Recently, I have successfully been able to appear for the Praveshika Poorna Examination at the Gandharv Sangeet Samiti under her guidance and score marks in Distinction.
