I am currently a freshman in college with political science as my major. In addition to being a college student, I also work on political campaigns professionally and I do advocacy work on a wide variety of issues in my free time.

I structure my lessons based on how a student best learns. For example, if a student learns better with a hands on approach, we can do activities that keep them engaged. Are they a visual learner? If so, I would incorporate graphs, pictures, and videos into my lesson. If they learn better by listening and absorbing the material, we can have discussions about the material. I believe this approach works better because every student is different. A one size fits all approach has less of an impact compared to tailoring to the student(s) learning style.
