About Dylan
With more than 11 years of experience teaching piano, I specialize in helping college students achieve technical mastery while discovering their own musical voice. My lessons are personalized and tailored to each student’s learning style and goals. I integrate traditional techniques with innovative approaches, including improvisation, composition exercises, modern music adaptations, and digital music tools to make learning interactive and inspiring.
I focus on building technique, sight-reading, rhythm, theory, and performance readiness, while encouraging creativity, expression, and artistic interpretation. I aim to create a positive, motivating, and engaging learning environment where students feel confident to explore, perform, and develop as musicians. My goal is to help students gain both technical skill and personal connection to music, fostering a lifelong passion for piano.

My piano teaching approach combines creativity, mentorship, and accountability. I focus on helping students develop technical skills, musical understanding, and confidence.
Creativity is encouraged through improvisation, exploring different genres, and playing songs students love. Lessons are designed to keep learning enjoyable and engaging.
As a mentor, I teach critical thinking in music. I explain rhythm, finger technique, scales, chords, and musical expression in simple language. Students learn to reflect on their playing and improve independently.
Accountability is built through clear goals, structured practice routines, and regular progress reviews. This helps students stay motivated, disciplined, and responsible for their learning.
Along with piano, I also teach music theory, sight reading, ear training, rhythm practice, keyboard coordination, and basic composition to support well-rounded musical development.
