About Willa
I hold a Bachelor’s in Music Performance and a Master’s in Piano Pedagogy, with 8 years of experience teaching students of all levels. My teaching philosophy blends technical rigor with creative exploration, ensuring each student develops both skill and expressive confidence. I emphasize individualized guidance, making each lesson responsive to the learner’s pace, goals, and learning style.
In lessons, I focus on finger independence, technique, sight-reading, interpretation, improvisation, and ensemble performance. I provide structured exercises, demonstrations, and personalized feedback while encouraging experimentation and self-expression. My goal is to foster both technical proficiency and musical artistry.
Beyond teaching, I actively engage in performance, study of diverse repertoires, and music pedagogy research. This enriches my instruction and allows me to bring fresh ideas into the classroom.
