About Sutton
I am a piano tutor with 6 years of experience and a BA in Musicology (Piano History). I focus on jazz piano, guiding students in improvisation, comping, and building a sophisticated harmonic vocabulary.
My lessons emphasize holistic development: jazz theory, transcription, ear training for complex chords, and rhythmic precision. Students learn to create music spontaneously while deepening their understanding.
I have taught Early Intermediate, Advanced Intermediate, and Professional/Expert jazz musicians. Each lesson is tailored to skill level and individual artistic goals.
Together, we explore harmonic richness, develop improvisation, and strengthen musical expression. You will gain confidence and spontaneity at the piano. Let’s begin your journey into creative jazz performance today.

I am a piano tutor with warm, goal-oriented lessons focused on accompaniment and ensemble playing. My teaching emphasizes rhythmic accuracy, harmonic understanding, and collaborative responsiveness.
Lessons include reading lead sheets, transposing, and playing with other musicians. Visual aids, shared scores, and collaborative exercises make the learning process engaging and practical.
I work with students seeking to perform in church settings, studio sessions, or ensemble projects. Each session balances technique, expression, and partnership.
Together, we strengthen ensemble awareness, musical confidence, and improvisational adaptability. You will gain the skills to accompany smoothly and musically in any context.
