About Alexis
I am a driven individual with 11 years worth of piano lessons and a continuous motive to self-learn. It brings me joy to pass on knowledge to others willing to learn. I have experience as a pianist for the high school choir as a student, which also involves helping students with vocals. I am compassionate about music. Anytime I am asked what my favorite subject is, my response will always be music. I have performed in many recitals and talent show events in my home-community in Augusta, GA and North Augusta, SC. In addition I picked up violin lessons for a year and continue to self-learn and attended a Music Theory class at the Aiken Technical college and hope to continue a musical degree here in Minnesota. In all I have gained knowledge of music theory throughout the years of music/instrumental classes and lessons.

My teaching method is to have an understanding of basic music theory and the understanding of the grand scale. What each note means and how many counts to hold each note. Music will involve some basic math. Each student will start off with the Teaching Little Fingers to Play Book by John Thompson with an exercise book, A Dozen A Day Book 1.

Details
I will travel anywhere within Minneapolis and St. Paul.
Student will need their own keyboard/piano at home.
Please note that I will more than likely be travelling from the MSP airport.
I will be travelling within and out of the country from time to time.
Communication is crucial!
Cancellation policy: There will be no refund or additional fees if lesson is cancelled by patron. Patron may reschedule lesson and payment may be used as credit.
There will be at least 2 weeks in advanced notice for cancellation or reschedule for lessons with an additional 30 minute lesson roll-over from instructor.
A Refund will be expected if lesson is cancelled without legitimate reasoning like: (being under the weather/ sense of emergency) and not rescheduled by instructor. A missed lesson will always be made up for unless unwanted by patron.
