About Max
I am a 3rd year Physics student at the University of York. I have been interested in maths and physics from a very early age, and have pursued my interests for example by completing a 6 year advanced maths course at the EPFL for secondary school students, which covered university-level mathematics and physics.
I thoroughly enjoy teaching and have been involved in tutoring for 8 years now, having taught many different students over the years, from the ages of 10 to 18. My recent placement at a secondary school as classroom assistant has done nothing but increase my interest and passion for teaching.
I also enjoy playing piano and violin, as well as playing sports.

I teach by combining as many different elements as possible: repeating and explaining parts of the material (from many different angles if needed), but also solving problems with the student while showing all the steps, as well as letting the student try to solve problems and prompting when they get stuck. A typical lesson will be around an hour, but can vary to suit the student.
I have been a private tutor for 8 years, and recently completed a full term as classroom assistant in a secondary school (teaching Year 7 to A level).
