About Mia
I am a Physics tutor with over 4 years of experience and an MPhys, passionate about exploring the physical principles behind living systems. My expertise lies in guiding students through biophysics and the physics of life. I help learners understand molecular motors, membrane transport, nerve impulses, and biomechanics with clarity and depth.
I work closely with biology students, pre-med learners, and anyone curious about how physics shapes biological processes. My teaching blends conceptual understanding with practical examples, making complex topics accessible. I emphasise the connections between physics and real-life biological systems, showing how theory explains function.
Hands-on examples and illustrative models are central to my approach. I encourage questions, discussions, and curiosity-driven exploration to deepen comprehension. Students gain confidence in applying physics to understand molecular machines, cellular transport, and physiological phenomena. I also guide them in analysing experimental data and interpreting results in a biological context.

My teaching approach focuses on making Physics engaging and practical for students. I help students develop strong skills in scientific reporting, ensuring their observations and results are accurately documented and communicated.
I encourage curiosity-driven learning, supporting students in asking questions and exploring ideas beyond textbooks. DIY experiments and creative problem-solving are central to my sessions, allowing students to discover new ways to conduct experiments confidently. Each student is guided to find their unique approach to scientific investigation, making learning personal and meaningful. I focus on reflective thinking, helping students understand why results occur, not just how to get them.
Assignments and projects are designed to reinforce concepts while developing critical thinking. I support students in connecting theory with practice, building confidence in their scientific abilities. By fostering a gentle and patient environment, I ensure every learner feels supported in excelling. The ultimate goal is to cultivate independent, thoughtful, and skilled young scientists ready to tackle challenges with curiosity and confidence.
