About Ira
I am a Physics tutor with over 4 years of experience and an MPhil in Physics. My teaching takes a holistic and interdisciplinary approach, connecting physics with art and cultural heritage. I focus on the interaction of light with pigments, material analysis, and principles of conservation science.
I incorporate art historical examples to make concepts engaging and relevant. Students explore non-destructive testing methods and the physical properties of art materials. This allows them to understand how physics informs preservation and restoration practices. I have guided art history students, conservationists, and anyone interested in the science behind cultural heritage.
My sessions combine theory, practical demonstrations, and case studies from real artworks. I emphasize curiosity, critical thinking, and hands-on exploration. Assignments are designed to bridge physics concepts with the challenges of analyzing and conserving art.
