About Mahmoud
I'm looking forward to being your math and Physics tutor. Here is a little about me: I graduated from Faculty of Science, Cairo University, Cairo, Egypt and Physical Chemistry Institute, Westfälische Wilhelms University, Muenster, Germany with a Ph.D. in Physics. I got Associate Professor since March 2006, Study the dielectric properties of advanced materials as well as nano-materials which have industrial, biological and environmental importance. A couple of interesting facts about myself; Over the span of the past +20 years, I have combined both research and teaching experiences; The outcome of my research work, are many papers that have been published in internationally and nationally important journals; My name was recorded in who's who of the world 2010 and in many scientist biographical Encyclopedia "Mahmoud Ahmed Mahmoud Eid" .

I began teaching at Century College 2011. Based on my experiences as a lecturer, making the sciences accessible and relevant is the key to holding a student’s interest, and is the main goal for a teaching professor. Explaining hard concepts to students so that they are understandable and useable is crucial. This has to be achieved without neglecting teaching the basics. Students can be motivated by pointing out that everyday life is based on Physics principles. The challenge for the professor is to help students discover how their life connects with Physics, and then will accept Physics as an essential subject in their lives. There are many tools that help students learn and make studying Physics attractive. I have considerable experience using PowerPoint slides, animations, and videos to engage the students in my class. In addition, I provide summaries sorting the key concepts in hi-lighted points after each section. One of my students specifically commented on how helpful this was. In particular, it aided the long-term retention of new material.
