About Kourosh
Hi! I'm Kourosh. I have a first class master's degree in physics, and I'm near the end of my PhD in Quantum Physics (that's a mixture of experimental work and theory, trying to understand how to make room temperature superconductors and quantum computers a real thing we can use in our everyday lives). - I can help prepare for homework and exams - having marked many university-level assessments myself, I know what they're looking for! - I was home-schooled - I know how hard it can be starting from scratch and trying to teach yourself because I did it, and I truly believe I can help you to make the learning process as efficient and enjoyable as possible - I am happy to tutor for lengths between 1 to 2.5 hours. - I have over six years of tutoring and teaching experiences at all levels. I've taught in schools before as a representative of the University of Bristol, given lectures for university-level physics degrees, led and designed workshops for maths and programming for university students which has become widely successful, alongside a wealth of personal tutoring experience - I've helped students between the ages of 8 to 55(!) - I can come to you!

I take a tailored approach to tutoring. In advance, we can briefly discuss the general topic and what you'd like to get out of the lecture - I'll prepare necessary materials that we can go through together. I know that assessments these days can be a lot of learning by heart, or jumping through hoops to score good marks - but I believe that learning the fundamentals of how science works, why a question is in the exam, and where the maths comes from can really change your perspective of the subject, and make you really engage with it. Understanding is key, and I see it as my job to make sure that the intricate details really click for you so that you can understand the bigger picture.

Kourosh is a great tutor. I've seen him in a variety of tutoring contexts, and he is very empathetic in meeting students at their point of need, and effective in helping students to progress.
Kourosh was a self-motivated and enthusiastic undergraduate, who has gone on to be a valuable member of the postgraduate teaching team. I value his contributions as a course tutor, going out of his way to offer support on my own courses and organising additional sessions for students who are struggling. I am pleased to recommend him highly to you.

I can drive to you, depending on the distance - if it's a long drive I will ask for a rate to cover my fuel fees. I much prefer in person teaching, I think the student gets a lot more out of it - but I am happy to do online tutoring as well!
