About Emilios
Hi, I'm Emilio — a graduate MPhys Physics student at the University of Oxford with a genuine passion for teaching Maths and Physics. Over the past six years, I have worked with students across a wide range of levels, from 11+ preparation all the way through to A-level, and I know firsthand what it takes to succeed at every stage.
My own academic journey has taught me that with the right support and guidance, any student can overcome challenges and reach their potential. That experience is at the heart of everything I do as a tutor — I don't just teach content, I help students build the confidence and problem-solving skills they need to think independently and perform under pressure.
Beyond core subject tutoring, I also specialise in university admissions support, having navigated the competitive Oxford application process myself. Whether it's crafting a compelling personal statement, preparing for interviews, or tackling entrance exams such as the PAT, BMAT, or ESAT, I can offer guidance that is both expert and genuinely personal.

- I take a tailored, student-centred approach to every lesson, adapting my teaching style to suit each individual's learning needs and goals. I focus on building deep conceptual understanding rather than rote memorisation, helping students tackle problems from first principles. Drawing on my own experience overcoming academic challenges, I create a supportive and encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. For exam preparation, I incorporate past paper practice, targeted feedback, and structured revision strategies to build both competence and confidence.
- Typical Length of a Lesson
My lessons typically last 60 to 90 minutes, though I'm happy to flex this to suit the student's needs, concentration levels, and the complexity of the material being covered.
- Qualifications and Experience
I am a fourth-year MPhys Physics student at the University of Oxford, and I have four years of hands-on tutoring experience across a wide range of levels and curricula. I also have specialist knowledge of university admissions processes, including personal statement writing, interview technique, and preparation for entrance exams such as the PAT, BMAT, and ESAT.
- Who the Lessons Are For
My lessons are suitable for students aged roughly 10 and upward, spanning all key stages — from 11+ preparation through to GCSE and A-level Maths and Physics. I also work with sixth-formers and gap-year students applying to competitive universities, particularly those targeting science and engineering courses.
