About Mobin
I'm a final-year PhD student in Physics & Astronomy at UBC, with nearly 9 years of teaching, tutoring, and TAing experience across university levels and high school. My research focuses on applying machine learning to physics problems, specifically simulating black hole collisions using neural networks.
I've been doing physics and math long enough to know exactly where things stop making sense for most students, and how to fix it. Whether it's a concept that never clicked or an exam coming up fast, we'll get it sorted. If you've ever left a lecture more confused than when you walked in, that's exactly what I'm here for. We'll go through things at your pace until they actually make sense.

My lessons are built around one goal: real understanding, not formula memorization. I start every new student with a quick diagnostic to find the gaps, then we build from there, no wasted time on things you already know.
A typical session includes a short concept review, working through problems together with me explaining my thinking out loud, and then you solving similar problems while I guide you. I adjust pace and depth based on how you're doing in real time.
I cover university physics (mechanics, E&M, quantum, thermodynamics), university math (calculus, linear algebra, differential equations), Python programming from basics to scientific computing, intro machine learning and data science, and high school physics and math. Sessions run online via Zoom or in person near UBC campus; your choice.
