I have recently graduated with a degree in Philosophy, Politics and Economics. I have provided maths tutoring to students from Year 7 to GCSE level during the summer between my A-levels and my undergraduate degree.

During university, most of the learning is focused on self learning, as the teaching content gives an initial look into the topic. As such, I value students who are take the effort to learn beforehand. I also value students who even though they may have questions regarding the content and approach me to clarify anything
My teaching method is target focused, in the beginning I will test the student in various topics to have an idea of what areas the student is secure in and areas requiring improvement. At which point I will set questions specific to the topics requiring improvement and watch the student, standing by to answer any clarifications. At the end of the lesson I will ask the student what they have learnt to review and ensure they have an understanding.
This target based teaching also allows me to track students' progress easily so as to structure subsequent lessons.
