About Harvey
I’m a Philosophy PhD student at the University of Sussex, and I care a lot about helping people think, speak, and write more clearly. I like teaching because I’m genuinely interested in how people see things and what they make of the world. Philosophy can feel intimidating at first, but learning to form your own thoughts and express them well is deeply empowering. Helping someone build that confidence, and feel more capable in their own mind, is one of the most rewarding things I know.

My sessions are relaxed, conversational, and very much built around where you are starting from. You do not need to arrive sounding polished or already confident. You can bring confusion, half-formed thoughts, rough notes, or no background in philosophy at all, and we will work from there. I like helping students feel safe enough to think out loud, ask basic questions, and gradually turn messy ideas into clearer, stronger arguments.
