About Jessica
Who am I?
I am a dedicated and experienced Biology and Chemistry tutor with over 5 years of teaching experience, supporting students from GCSE and A-Level through to undergraduate degree level. I am currently undertaking a PhD in Zoonotic Diseases, specialising in Parasitology and Molecular Ecology, and also work as a Graduate Demonstrator at university level, where I guide students through practical and theoretical concepts.

My Teaching Style:
My teaching approach is student-centred, flexible, and results-driven. I tailor every lesson to suit individual learning styles and goals, focusing on:
- Breaking down complex topics into clear, manageable steps
- Using real-world examples (especially from current research) to deepen understanding
- Active learning through questions, problem-solving, and exam-style practice
- Identifying knowledge gaps and building strong foundational understanding
I aim not just to help students pass exams, but to develop confidence and genuine interest in the subject.
Lessons are typically 1–2 hours, depending on the student’s needs and level. This allows enough time for:
- Thorough explanation of key concepts
- Worked examples and guided practice
- Addressing questions and reinforcing understanding
Qualifications & Experience
I am a PhD candidate in Zoonotic Diseases (Parasitology & Molecular Ecology), a Graduate Demonstrator at university level and have over 5 years of tutoring experience with proven track record supporting students in achieving higher grades
My academic background allows me to provide in-depth subject knowledge, particularly for students progressing to higher education.
