About Julia
I am a current PhD student at Northwestern studying economics and public policy. I have been tutoring middle and high school-aged students for nearly ten years, and love working with students! I have experience teaching standardized test prep (specifically SAT verbal and math), advising on and reviewing college application essays, and tutoring in high school math. I graduated with honors from Amherst College where I majored in English and Economics.

My approach to teaching is to make sure students have a strong foundation on which to build. My goal is to equip students with the skills they need to succeed without supplementary tutoring in the future! This is especially salient when preparing for standardized tests, as so much of the material on the SAT, ACT, etc. relies on fundamental principles. Shoring up the fundamentals is my specialty!
