About Thivviya
As a 2nd year PhD student, I spend my days breaking down complex problems and turning them into clear, logical solutions. This ability to simplify difficult concepts and explain them in an accessible way is something I bring directly into my tutoring.
Having progressed through competitive academic environments myself, I understand the pressures students face and how easily confidence can affect performance. I focus on building strong foundations, clear understanding, and independent thinking skills so students become more confident in class and in exams.
I am patient, structured, and encouraging, but I also set high standards and help students develop discipline and effective study habits. My goal is not only to improve grades, but to help students feel capable, resilient, and proud of their progress.

My approach to tutoring is structured, supportive, and tailored to each student’s needs. I begin by identifying areas of difficulty and understanding the student’s learning style. I then break topics down into simple, manageable steps, using clear explanations, examples, and practice questions to reinforce understanding. I focus on building strong foundations and confidence, as well as developing exam techniques where appropriate.
I am a PhD student in Cardiovascular Sciences at the University of Leicester with a master's integrated degree in biochemistry. I have assisted in 11+ tutoring classes and supported learning in a primary school setting, which has given me experience working with younger students.
My lessons are aimed at primary school in all subjects and GCSE-level students in science and related subjects.
