About Shannan
I am an enthusiastic PhD student and a big fan of science.
My interest in science started at a very young age and as a result, for my A levels, I studied Biology, Chemistry Maths and History. In 2019, I obtained my Bachelor of Science in Tropical Disease Biology and in 2020 I successfully completed my Master of Science in Medical Parasitology. During my studies, I expanded my knowledge of biochemistry, cellular biology, physiology, immunology, and so on.
I have experience supporting students at GCSE level and Master's level. I have always had a passion for teaching and tutoring is a great opportunity for me to encourage and inspire students to explore science.
I strongly believe that every student is different and always aim to adapt the lesson to the student’s needs. I am highly enthusiastic and energetic and I look forward to share my science knowledge and inspire the next generation to learn and broaden their knowledge of science.

I believe that it is really important in every session to understand the needs of the student and where their current knowledge is. This will allow me to understand what areas to prioritise for the tutoring sessions to make a positive impact in the student's learning and success. During my time in education I have developed a range of different revision and exam skills which I can pass on to students to guide them and give them the skills to effectively revise for exams. The typical length of a lesson is 1 hour. My lessons are aimed at secondary school students up to college students studying for A levels.
