About Haniyeh
My name is Haniyeh, I'm a second-year PhD student in Astronomy and Planetary Sciences at the Ohio State University. I graduated with a Mechanical Engineering degree in 2023, but my enthusiasm for space science led me through a different path, and I decided to do graduate school in Planetary Science. As you probably have guessed, I study planets! More specifically, my research is on Exoplanets, which are planets outside the solar system. I am currently focusing on the ones that look like Mercury, meaning that they are dense and have a huge Iron core. I investigate their formation scenarios and characteristics. Ever since I was in high school, I deeply enjoyed math and physics. I started teaching them as soon as I started college, as a private tutor. Right now, I'm a teaching assistant at OSU, where I teach a general education course: Intro to Earth Sciences.
