About LI
I have recently joined a university in Oxford as an Associate Lecturer and I am also a Senior Lecturer in Business and Management at a university in Bath. I hold MSc in eTourism, Ph.D. in Management, and Post Graduate Certificate in Education. I am a Fellow of Higher Education, a member of the British Academy of Management, and an active member of the editorial board for a number of international academic journals, including the Journal of Critical Realism, which is one of the top journals in philosophy and sociology. I was an External Examiner for another British university from 2016 to 2021.
I have been teaching in higher education since 2013. In my current academic roles within these two institutions, I teach/supervise:
- postgraduate Research Methods
- undergraduate business and management courses (including Business Environment, Organisational Behaviours, Human Resource Management, Tourism Management, and Destination Management)
- student dissertations at the levels of undergraduate, postgraduate, and Ph.D.
In addition to that, I have been providing bespoken master dissertation and Ph.D research consultations in my capacity as a freelance academic advisor. I also provide personalised guidance to help individuals who wish to apply for a Ph.D. programme in the business and management field in the UK. Services include sharpening research ideas, research proposal editing, and advice on how to perform at the interview.
My academic expertise lies in the areas of the application of technology in marketing, management learning and development, management practice, organizational analysis, and tourism management. I have published my work in internationally outstanding academic journals, such as Current Issues in Tourism, Teaching in Higher Education, Social Sciences and Humanities Open. I have presented my research in international conferences in the UK, America, Ireland, the Netherlands, and other European countries.
My expertise in teaching is well reflected in my educational research. My paper titled "An inquiry into the delivering of a British curriculum in China" published in Teaching in Higher Education has been well received by the academic community. It was described as leaving "a deep impression" by Education Journal, and 'interesting and innovative, contributing to existing knowledge' by International Journal of Contemporary Education. I was invited, by both journals to join their editorial boards. I was also invited to speak, as an education expert, by the 3rd Annual World Education Day Assembly committee.
