About Adam
I am a qualified secondary Geography teacher with a PhD in Human Geography and extensive experience across both teaching and assessment. I have worked as an IGCSE examiner for 15 years, as well as marking specialist Geography examinations for Cambridge, including the Geography component of Pakistan Studies. This experience has given me a detailed understanding of how exam questions are assessed and, importantly, where students commonly lose marks.
I have always had a genuine passion for Geography and enjoy helping students develop their own understanding of the subject. I want to use my experience as both a teacher and examiner to help students build their confidence, improve their exam technique and achieve the GCSE grades they are capable of.

My lessons are tailored to the needs of each individual student, whether they need support with a particular topic, want to improve their GCSE grade or are simply looking to build their confidence in Geography.
I focus on making sure students understand the geography behind what they are learning rather than simply memorising information for an exam. Once that understanding is secure, we can focus on applying their knowledge to GCSE exam questions, improving exam technique and understanding exactly what is needed to access the higher marks.
Lessons can focus on particular topics, revision, exam technique, fieldwork or geographical skills depending on what the student needs. I can also use their previous assessments and exam answers to identify where marks are being lost and target these areas directly. My aim is to help students become more confident geographers and, ultimately, turn that improved understanding into better GCSE results.
