About Sumaira
With a PhD in Materials Science and Engineering and advanced degrees in Physics, I bring both depth of knowledge and years of experience to every tutoring session. I currently work as a researcher at the University of Colorado Boulder, where analytical thinking, precision, and curiosity are central to my daily work. Hi! I’m a materials scientist with a PhD in Materials Science and Engineering, along with Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees in Physics. My academic journey has taken me from South Korea, where I completed my PhD, to my current role as a researcher at the University of Colorado Boulder. Along the way, I’ve worked with students from around the world through international academies, helping them master complex scientific concepts and develop confidence in their learning.
What truly sets me apart is that I understand learning from both sides, as a scientist and as someone who thrives on curiosity and challenge. Because I have ADHD, I bring an energetic, adaptive, and highly interactive style to every session. I love keeping lessons dynamic and tailored to each student’s unique way of thinking. Whether you’re struggling to understand the fundamentals or aiming to excel in advanced topics, I can help you connect the dots and truly enjoy the process.
