About Surya
My name is Dr Surya Krishnaswamy and I have a PhD in composite materials from Cranfield University in the UK. Additionally, I also have a Postgraduate Diploma in Academic Practice (PGCAP) and am Fellow of the Higher Education Authority (UK). I have been working as a research fellow in areas such as material/composite development, advanced manufacturing, mathematical/statistical modelling and finite element analysis. Alongside these roles, I have also been actively involved in postgraduate teaching such as developing a MSc programme in additive manufacturing at Cranfield (for which I later became the admissions tutor and deputy course director) as well as designing and teaching multiple sessions on topics such as statistics, materials etc. Therefore, I bring both technical expertise as well as teaching know how to the table.

My lessons are tailored to each and every student. I believe that everyone has a different learning style and try to capture all of these in my lessons. Therefore, my lessons usually follow this pattern: - Initial meeting with the student wherein I will understand what their objectives are and what they want out of sessions - Develop initial lessons that contain different types of teaching content. This would include videos, pictures, texts etc -Eventually start focusing and tailoring content to the types that the student responds to In addition to this, I will also constantly check for understanding and feedback as this will help me know if a particular topic has been understood or needs to be revisited.
