About Vidya
I am a cancer biologist and biomedical researcher with extensive experience in laboratory science, mouse models, organoids, and deep-learning-based tissue pathology. My background allows me to teach both foundational biology and advanced university-level content while giving students an insight into how science is applied in real research. I am patient, encouraging, and fully committed to helping each learner reach their goals, whether that means improving grades, mastering difficult topics, or building confidence before exams or university.

My teaching approach is centred on building true understanding rather than memorisation. I break complex biological concepts down into clear, logical steps and connect them to real-world examples from modern research, including cancer biology, genetics, and molecular biology, so students learn why something is true, not just what the textbook says. I tailor each lesson to the student’s learning style, whether that means visual diagrams, worked examples, exam-style questions, or interactive discussion. My goal is to build confidence and make biology feel intuitive and enjoyable. A typical lesson lasts 60 minutes, although some students prefer 90-minute deep-dive sessions for exam preparation or assignment support. Every session begins with a short guided recap of previous content, followed by structured teaching and live problem-solving, and ends with a personalised summary of key take-home points and optional practice tasks. Lessons are suitable for: GCSE and National 5 Biology students A-Level / Higher / Advanced Higher Biology students Undergraduate students in biomedical sciences, physiology, genetics or related degrees Students preparing for medical or biosciences university applications
