About Sabrina
I`m a 29 year old scientist, who holds a BSc in Biotechnology and MSc in Biochemsitry, which I obtained in Germany and Scotland. Therefore, I am confident to help tutor Biology and Chemistry up to A level and basic-levels in Mathematics, Statistics and Physics.
I recently completed my PhD in Biochemistry at the University of Groningen (NL), where I have also been teaching for the last 4 years. Sharing my knowledge and own experiences on how biology influences our daily life is a fantastic way to engage students. I am a very patient and motivating teacher and enjoy identifying students strengths and guide and motivate them accordingly.
I am native German speaker, but am also fluent in English and Dutch.
I recently moved from the Netherlands to Plymouth to live together with my boyfriend. In my free time, I like to share my passion for science and regularily share historically important microbiology events on Twitter. I also love being outdoors and explore nature by hiking and climbing.

I have taught practical courses and lectures in Biology and Chemistry for more than 4 years. For me teaching does not only involve sharing my knowledge, but also motivating and inspiring others and I am experienced in working with a wide range of students (age range of 17-23) and adapt my teaching style accordingly.

Sabrina and I worked in the same lab during our PhD and we taught a Biochemistry practical course alongside each other for 2nd year BSc students. I've got to know Sabrina as an extremely knowledgeable, thorough and above all a very nice person. Her teaching style is highly engaging, she always includes great real-life examples, which encourages participatory learning. I highly recommend her as a tutor.
I have worked together with Sabrina for ~5 years and always admired her enthusiasm, reliability, energy, eagerness to help others and her love for details. I attended several courses organized by her which were all planned long in advance with all essential information provided, informative and with a friendly atmosphere. I'm sure she'll make a great tutor as she loves to help and tech others and see them succeed.

Lessons up to GCSE level are £ 20 . Lessons for A-level or University students are £ 25. I won't charge for travel within Plymouth. I might ask for travel costs reimbursement for lessons outside of Plymouth, however, I am happy to negotiate that.
