About Basil
I am a PhD-qualified Biotechnologist and experienced university educator with over 13 years of teaching Biology and Life Sciences at undergraduate and postgraduate level. I have taught and mentored more than 200 students per year, supervised 26 research projects, and published research in peer-reviewed international journals.
Science can feel overwhelming — but with the right guidance, it clicks. My teaching style is patient, structured, and always tailored to the individual student. I focus on building genuine understanding rather than surface-level memorization, so you feel confident walking into any exam or assessment.
Outside academia, I have worked as a Product Strategist and Scientific Advisor in the pharmaceutical and nutraceutical industry — which means I bring real-world context to the science I teach, helping students see not just the theory, but why it matters in the real world.

I'm a PhD-qualified Biotechnologist with 12 years of university teaching experience, having taught and mentored over 200 students per year across undergraduate and postgraduate Biology and Science programs.
My approach is concept-first — I focus on building genuine understanding rather than rote memorisation, so students can tackle any exam question with confidence. Each session starts by identifying your specific gaps which then moves into clear explanation.
Sessions run 60–90 minutes online and are tailored to your pace and goals — whether you're aiming to lift a struggling grade or push for top marks.
