About Mohammad (Mo)
My name is Mo. I hold a PhD in Energy and Power Engineering and have been teaching Maths and Physics for over 20 years across multiple countries and educational systems. Throughout my career, I have consistently delivered high-quality instruction, helping students excel at their high school exams, GCSE, A-level, and in advanced competitions like the Senior Mathematical Challenge (SMC) and the British Physics Olympiad (BPhO). Currently, I am tutoring a student for the 2024 Senior Mathematical Challenge, guiding him to perform at his best. My teaching journey started at the National Organization for Development of Exceptional Talents (NODET) in Iran, where I was not only a student but also returned as a teacher in 2000. Since then, I have taught at renowned institutions, from private schools and specialised institutes to respected universities worldwide. My international teaching experience includes roles at institutions such as PNU University (Iran), Xi’an Jiaotong University (China), Sogang University (South Korea), and the University of Exeter (UK), where I had the privilege of co-mentoring final-year students on their research projects. My commitment to excellence in teaching has led to multiple nominations and awards in teaching performance. I have taught and tutored over 100 students from diverse backgrounds, including England, Armenia, China, South Korea, the USA, and the UAE, and I specialise in helping students achieve top results. One of my notable successes was guiding a Chinese student who had recently transitioned to a high school in the USA. I helped him to overcome cultural and academic challenges, and he achieved 85% in both Physics and Maths. My students consistently improve their understanding, building the skills and confidence to excel from average to high-achieving results. =============== My Teaching Approach=============== Student-Centric Approach With extensive experience working with students from diverse backgrounds, I understand that each learner is unique, with their own pace and preferred learning style. My approach is always personalised to each student’s needs. Before we begin, I take the time to understand students’ goals and learning expectations through open conversations with both students and parents. This process ensures that my teaching style is aligned with what works best for each individual, maximising their success. Practical and Relatable Examples Students often ask me, “How does this apply to real life?”—and I’m always ready with countless examples! I believe learning becomes engaging and memorable when students can relate the subject to their own experiences. By using real-life applications, I make challenging concepts more tangible and enjoyable. Many times, parents or friends of my students have joined sessions, and they often remark that they’ve learned things they never encountered in their own studies. Visual Learning Advantage Maths and physics can be challenging subjects, especially without visual aids to illustrate abstract concepts. I incorporate visual examples like simple drawings, plots, and graphs to bring clarity and confidence to complex topics. My students find it easier to connect theories with visual representations, especially when these examples relate to real-life applications. This approach helps them develop a deeper, more intuitive understanding of the material. Step-by-Step Guidance Complex problems in maths and physics are often difficult to grasp, especially when loaded with confusing terminologies. I break down these challenges by guiding students through a structured, step-by-step approach to problem-solving. Additionally, I explain the physical meaning behind terms, helping students connect to the subject in a way that’s digestible. This method not only builds understanding but also boosts confidence, creating a constructive learning loop. Patience and Persistent Support Known for my patience, I believe that learning unfolds at an individual’s pace and in their own way. By actively listening to students' questions and needs, I create a supportive environment where they feel comfortable, trust me, and express themselves openly. This openness is crucial in identifying and addressing their weaknesses, ensuring they never feel hesitant to ask questions—even if it’s the same question multiple times. Flipped Classes for Active Learning I often incorporate flipped classes, where students take on the role of explaining concepts to me. This approach reinforces their understanding, boosts their confidence, and helps identify areas where they might need further assistance. I believe that true comprehension comes from being able to explain a concept effectively, and this method has consistently proven successful.

I’ve guided over 120 students from diverse backgrounds, tailoring my approach to each individual’s needs. My students consistently achieve significant improvements, such as a Chinese student transitioning to a U.S. high school who earned 85% in Physics and Maths. From helping returning students catch up academically to preparing candidates for university admissions, I focus on building confidence and mastery. Beyond academics, I’ve led youth robotics teams, mentoring students in areas like rescue and firefighting robots. Whether preparing for exams or exploring robotics, I bring a passion for teaching and a proven track record of success. Let’s work together to help your child reach their highest potential! ====================Highlights=============== Current Senior course manager and tutor at "Primer Global Tutoring Co." Senior Mathematical Challenge: Currently (2024) tutoring a student for the Senior Mathematical Challenge (SMC), helping him develop advanced problem-solving skills. Returning Student Success: Helped a student who returned to school after a year achieve a standard level in maths, allowing him to pass his high school Year 2 exam and progress to Year 3 in September 2023. International Student Transition: Supported a Chinese student transitioning to high school in the USA, guiding him to achieve 85% in both Physics and Maths despite cultural and academic adjustments. Charity/Voluntary Tutoring Program: Taught four students at an orphanage in Iran, enabling them to pass their re-take exams with a 75% average. They are now preparing for college entrance exams. Successful University Admissions: 24 out of 25 of my NODET students were admitted to a BEng programme. Also, my students at Xi’an Jiaotong University, Sogang University, and Payam Noor University consistently achieved pass rates above 80%.

Received the best experience from Mo,
My son is in the 2nd grade and was struggling with the math, but in just some sessions of teaching by Mo, my son got so much improved, we were so lucky to have him as private teacher. Mo is so knowledgeable and he knows the methods of the teaching well. Thank you Mo.I have known Mohammad in the scope of his colleague for the past few years. He is professional, dedicated, committed and extremely knowledgeable. I have seen him teaching at different levels including GCSE, A levels and university and I find him professional. I am a tutor myself with 18 years of experience in teaching and tutoring and I can say highly of him. He is a great teacher and mentor and I strongly recommend him for tutoring Maths and sciences.
