About Martyna
Hi, I'm Martyna – a recent Pharmacology graduate with a passion for science, people, and continuous learning. I'm currently seeking opportunities in the pharmaceutical industry, where I can apply my academic background and strong interpersonal skills. Alongside my studies, I've gained valuable experience in student-facing roles, including working as a Literacy Achievement Coach at a local school in Nottingham and a Lead Student Mentor, supporting first-year university students as they adjusted to academic life. I’ve also developed strong communication and customer service skills through part-time work as a barista in a fast-paced retail environment. Outside of work and academics, I enjoy expressing creativity through fashion and experimenting in the kitchen with cooking.

As a Pharmacology graduate from Nottingham Trent University with Upper Second-Class Honours, I bring a strong academic foundation and a passion for helping students succeed in science. I currently tutor GCSE Science and A-Level Biology in Northampton and online, supporting students with a range of abilities and goals. My Approach to Tutoring My lessons are designed to be engaging, supportive, and structured around each student’s unique learning style. I use active recall, exam-style practice, and simplified explanations to make complex topics more accessible. I focus on building confidence, reinforcing core understanding, and improving exam technique. I also provide regular progress checks to help students (and parents) track improvements over time. Teaching Methods Interactive lessons using diagrams, real-life examples, and questioning techniques Scaffolded learning — breaking down challenging topics into manageable steps Regular low-stakes quizzes to improve retention and identify gaps Encouragement of independent thinking and revision skills Patient, friendly, and adaptable approach for different learning needs Lesson Format Lessons are typically 60 minutes long Available for both in-person sessions in Northampton and online tutoring Shorter sessions (30–45 minutes) available for younger learners or focused revision Experience & Qualifications BSc in Pharmacology (2:1) – Nottingham Trent University Experience through: Students in Classrooms scheme in Nottingham (supporting pupils in school settings) Lead Mentor and Literacy Achievement Coach roles, guiding first-year students and disengaged pupils Freelance tutoring since 2024, focusing on GCSE and A-Level science subjects Who I Teach GCSE Science (Combined and Triple) – Ages 13–16 A-Level Biology – Ages 16–18 Also happy to support younger KS3 students preparing for GCSEs or needing science foundation support
