About Kev
I am an experienced tutor specializing in Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry for GCSE, IGCSE, A-Level, International A-Level and IB students.
For many years, I have worked closely with students from British, international and Swiss school systems. I have supported students with regular schoolwork, mock examinations, final exam preparation, resits and targeted grade improvement.
My lessons are clear, structured and strongly exam-focused. I break difficult topics into simple, logical steps and help students understand not only how to solve a problem, but also why a particular method is used.
Students learn how to recognise common examination patterns, choose the correct formula, organise their calculations clearly and avoid the mistakes that often lead to lost marks.
I recently completed my Master’s degree at a technical university of applied sciences in Switzerland, with a strong focus on Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science and Artificial Intelligence.
My studies combined advanced mathematical thinking with modern technical subjects such as programming, mathematical modelling, data analysis and AI. This academic background gives me a strong foundation for teaching complex mathematical and scientific topics in a clear, practical and understandable way.
I combine this technical knowledge with the precision and discipline of the Swiss education system. At the same time, my experience with British and international qualifications allows me to adapt each lesson to the student’s exact syllabus, examination board, current level and personal learning goals.
Every student learns differently. I therefore identify individual gaps, strengthen the necessary foundations and gradually move towards more challenging exam-style questions.
My aim is to help students become more accurate, independent and confident, while giving them the knowledge and examination technique needed to achieve stronger results.

➤ EXPERIENCED MATHS, FURTHER MATHS, STATISTICS, PHYSICS & STEM TUTOR
With several years of tutoring experience, I support students preparing for GCSE, IGCSE, A-Level, International A-Level, IB and introductory university courses.
I specialise in Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Statistics and Physics, together with the mathematical and analytical skills required across STEM subjects.
I work with students in London, throughout the UK, across Switzerland and internationally.
➤ UK & INTERNATIONAL EXAM SUPPORT
I support students following major UK and international examination boards, including:
→ Pearson Edexcel
→ Cambridge International
→ AQA
→ OCR
→ IB Diploma Programme
Each lesson is adapted to the student’s exact syllabus, examination board, current level and academic goals.
I provide specialised support for:
→ GCSE and IGCSE Mathematics
→ GCSE and IGCSE Physics
→ A-Level Mathematics
→ A-Level Further Mathematics
→ A-Level Physics
→ A-Level Statistics
→ International A-Level Mathematics and Physics
→ IB Mathematics AA SL and HL
→ IB Mathematics AI SL and HL
→ IB Physics SL and HL
→ Probability, Statistics and Data Analysis
→ University foundation Mathematics and Physics
→ Introductory university STEM modules
→ Exam resits and intensive exam preparation
My lessons are suitable for students attending state schools, independent schools, international schools and boarding schools, as well as private candidates and students learning online.
➤ MATHEMATICS & FURTHER MATHEMATICS
I help students build strong mathematical foundations and develop the confidence needed to solve more advanced problems.
Topics may include:
→ Algebra and equations
→ Functions and graphs
→ Geometry and trigonometry
→ Sequences and series
→ Differentiation and integration
→ Vectors and coordinate geometry
→ Complex numbers
→ Matrices
→ Differential equations
→ Mechanics and mathematical modelling
→ Pure Mathematics
→ Exam-style problem-solving
I explain every method step by step and help students understand when, why and how it should be used.
➤ STATISTICS
Statistics requires more than memorising formulas. Students must understand the data, choose the correct method and interpret the result properly.
I support students with:
→ Probability
→ Tree diagrams
→ Conditional probability
→ Binomial and normal distributions
→ Mean, variance and standard deviation
→ Histograms and cumulative frequency
→ Correlation and regression
→ Sampling methods
→ Confidence intervals
→ Hypothesis testing
→ Statistical modelling
→ Data interpretation
→ Calculator-based statistical methods
Students learn how to present calculations clearly, explain what the result means and write accurate statistical conclusions.
➤ PHYSICS
I help students understand the mathematical and scientific ideas behind Physics rather than simply memorising equations.
Topics may include:
→ Motion and forces
→ Mechanics
→ Energy, work and power
→ Momentum
→ Electricity and circuits
→ Waves and oscillations
→ Thermal Physics
→ Materials
→ Fields
→ Atomic and nuclear Physics
→ Practical skills
→ Data analysis
→ Multi-step calculation questions
I show students how to identify the relevant information, select the correct equation, organise calculations and interpret the final answer.
➤ STEM SUPPORT
Many STEM subjects require strong mathematical thinking, logical problem-solving and confidence with data.
I support students with:
→ Quantitative problem-solving
→ Mathematical modelling
→ Scientific calculations
→ Formula rearrangement
→ Graphs and data interpretation
→ Units and conversions
→ Analytical reasoning
→ Technical problem-solving
→ Foundation-level engineering Mathematics
→ Preparation for STEM-related university courses
This support is particularly useful for students who understand the theory but struggle to apply Mathematics accurately in scientific or technical questions.
➤ CLEAR, STRUCTURED & EXAM-FOCUSED LESSONS
Every student has different strengths and learning needs. I therefore adapt each lesson to the individual student.
I identify gaps in understanding, rebuild weak foundations and gradually progress towards more challenging examination questions.
Students learn how to:
→ recognise common exam patterns
→ select the correct formula or method
→ organise calculations clearly
→ understand what the final answer means
→ avoid common mistakes
→ manage multi-step questions
→ improve exam technique
→ work confidently under time pressure
The aim is not simply to memorise formulas, but to understand how to apply them independently and accurately.
➤ STRONG ACADEMIC & TECHNICAL BACKGROUND
I completed my Master’s degree at a Swiss university of applied sciences, with a strong focus on advanced Mathematics, Statistics, Programming, Mathematical Modelling, Data Science and Artificial Intelligence.
My studies developed strong numerical, analytical and technical problem-solving skills. This background is particularly valuable when teaching Mathematics, Statistics, Physics and STEM subjects.
I combine this academic knowledge with several years of practical teaching experience and the precision and structure of the Swiss education system.
➤ FROM STRONG FOUNDATIONS TO BETTER RESULTS
Whether a student is struggling with the basics, preparing for an important examination or aiming for a top grade, I provide clear explanations, targeted practice and personalised support.
My goal is to help students move from confusion to clarity, from uncertainty to confidence and from inconsistent performance to stronger academic and examination results.

Details
The free 30-minute session is designed to understand the student’s goals, current level, syllabus, examination board and areas of difficulty. It also gives us time to discuss the most suitable lesson structure and create a focused study plan.
This session is not a full teaching lesson or emergency exam-preparation session. New topics, past-paper training and detailed exam revision begin during the booked lessons, where enough time is available to teach properly and provide meaningful support.
