When I first saw Umit's profile I could tell he had the credentials to help me, and that became even clearer after our first session. Since I come from a Turkish background but raised in the UK, my command of the Turkish language has always been weaker. Umit is the first German teacher who succeeded in teaching me the third conditional!! No small feat! He really knows how to explain German grammar which is rare among native speakers. I love his ability to make connections when it comes to vocab (e.g. "fest" in German means "firmly"; English has it too: "fast asleep" - "firmly asleep"). It's just one of the tips he gave me. Insights like this are precious and make learning easier.

Best of all, however, are his speaking classes as he knows how to keep the conversation going while unintrusively, yet effectively, correcting your mistakes. We always discuss the most amazing topics and there's never a dull lesson with Umit!!

I highly recommend him as a teacher and as a kind, caring, wonderful person that he is. Super lucky to have had him for the last year and a half.
