About Tessa
As a Spanish tutor with 15+ years of experience, I enjoy helping High School and College students discover the joy of learning a new language. I believe personalized learning is the foundation of successful education because every student has unique strengths and learning preferences. My lessons are carefully designed to match each learner's needs while encouraging confidence and consistent progress.
I teach grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, reading, writing, listening, speaking, and conversational Spanish. My teaching combines clear explanations with interactive discussions, practical exercises, and real-life communication activities. Students actively participate throughout every lesson, allowing them to build confidence while improving fluency naturally.
One of my greatest strengths is helping students overcome fear of speaking a new language. I create a positive and supportive environment where learners feel comfortable practicing without worrying about making mistakes. Regular assessments and personalized feedback help students recognize their achievements while identifying opportunities for further improvement.
I also introduce students to the traditions, culture, and everyday language used throughout Spanish-speaking countries. This cultural awareness strengthens communication skills and gives learners a broader understanding of the language.

My Spanish teaching methodology emphasizes motivation, communication, creativity, and strong time management. I motivate students by understanding their goals, giving encouragement, and celebrating their achievements to build confidence and engagement.
Communication is central to my approach; I help students practice speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills in practical, meaningful contexts. Creativity is incorporated through storytelling, games, role-plays, and visual aids to make lessons interactive, fun, and memorable. Time management ensures that each lesson is productive and structured, covering grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, and conversational practice.
I also guide learners on organizing their study and practice outside class. In addition to Spanish, I can teach related subjects such as grammar, pronunciation, and language learning strategies. My goal is to make Spanish learning enjoyable, structured, and confidence-building.
