About Maranda

My name is Maranda and I tutor grades 1-12 in English, history, visual arts, philosophy and psychology.
I attended Sheridan College and Trent University, taking courses related to psychology, philosophy, cultural studies and English.
I graduated as an Ontario scholar, receiving above an 80% average.
I am passionate about helping students who might need more time and attention than others.

About the lesson

I teach English, History, Visual Arts and Art History.

For English and History I can help up to grade 12 material.
For Visual Arts I can teach adults as well as K-grade 12.

I can help with anywhere from book reports to Shakespeare, and I can tell you facts about the first species humans evolved from to Canada’s involvement in World War I.
If that isn’t your thing, I can teach all sorts of visual arts, as well as the history of the movements that the styles were born from, whether it’s painting realism or animating cartoons!
Lessons can vary in length to suit any academic needs, starting from 30 minute lessons for quick homework and younger learners, all the way to 3 hours for long painting sessions, or helping with tough lengthy projects.

I have experience working with children who have ADHD and autism, and regardless of ability, I focus on helping anyone find the best way they can learn.

I strive to provide a comfortable and patient learning environment. I am also able to teach in a variety of settings, depending on what works best for the individual.

Art materials and school supplies will be provided.
