About Finlay
Hi, I’m a second-year Economics student at the University of Leeds with a strong interest in helping students improve their understanding and confidence in key subjects.
I’m friendly, patient, and approachable, and I aim to create a relaxed environment where students feel comfortable asking questions. I understand that some topics can feel challenging, so I focus on explaining things clearly and at a pace that suits each individual.
Having recently gone through GCSEs and A-Levels myself, I understand the pressure students face and what examiners are looking for. My goal is not only to help improve grades, but also to build confidence and a more positive approach to learning.

My tutoring approach focuses on building clear understanding and confidence in a supportive environment. I tailor each lesson to the student’s needs, breaking down complex topics into simple, step-by-step explanations and using examples to make ideas easier to grasp.
Lessons are typically 60 minutes and include a mix of learning content and practising exam-style questions to improve technique and confidence. I regularly check understanding and encourage students to explain concepts back to reinforce learning.
I am a second-year Economics student at the University of Leeds with experience helping peers and younger students understand difficult topics. I teach GCSE Maths, GCSE Physics, and A-Level Maths.
