About Melika
Hi! I’m Melika, a second-year Biomedical Science student and an experienced tutor for Math, Science, and Chemistry (Elementary to Grade 12). I’ve consistently achieved 95%+, and in 2023, I earned a medal and the highest score in my school in the Canadian Team Mathematics Contest.
I offer clear, step-by-step tutoring that’s personalized to each student’s grade level, curriculum, and goals—whether they’re catching up, preparing for a test, or aiming for higher grades.
Because I’m a current university student, I understand what today’s students are dealing with: busy schedules, stress, and pressure to perform. I’m approachable and easy to talk to, so students feel comfortable asking questions, but I still keep sessions focused and productive. Being young doesn’t mean I lack experience; it means I can connect with students naturally and explain concepts in a way that makes sense to this generation while keeping them motivated and on track.

My tutoring approach is structured, personalized, and focused on real results. I start by identifying the student’s current level and the exact topics that are confusing. Then I teach concepts step-by-step in a simple way, using clear examples and the same types of questions students see on school tests.
Typical Lesson Plan
I use an “Explain → Practice → Master” method:
Explain: I break the concept into small, logical steps and teach the “why,” not just the formula.
Practice: We solve problems together first (guided practice), then the student solves independently while I coach and correct mistakes in real time.
Master: We finish with mixed questions to build speed and confidence, so the student can solve independently.
What sets me apart as a tutor
I don’t use random worksheets—I build a practice plan based on the student’s grade level, curriculum, and weak areas. I focus on patterns in mistakes (setup, algebra, units, and wording) so marks improve faster, and I keep lessons supportive but efficient so each session ends with clear progress and a plan for the week.
